Think the Earth
Think the Earth
Think the Earth Project Activity Report 2001
Think the Earth Project began its activities in February 2001, and with the assistance from founder members, partner companies, and associate partners, we were able to carry out the following activities during our first year.

Business Relation
---Creating a system for social contribution through business

These activities concentrated mainly on creating a business network based on our very first project, the wn-1 project. We aimed to augment recognition as one of the few projects in Japan that supports businesses' social contribution, and we also placed emphasis on creating network with social contribution, environment, business planning, and public relations divisions of many companies.

Social Relation
---Bequeathing a beautiful Earth to the children of the next generation

Holding "to leave our children--the torchbearers of the coming age--a beautiful Earth" as our social contribution theme, a portion of the revenue from the wn-1 project was donated to 4 organizations, "Save the Children Japan," "Shaplaneer," "Japan Committee, Vaccines for the World's Children," and "Care Japan." Then we introduced the activities of each organization through e-mail newsletters or through the website, and we also held seminars which provided opportunities for company and NPO staff members to directly meet and converse.
Moreover, we developed networks between NPOs by actively supporting interchange between NPOs and by actively gathering information.

Public Relation
---Think about the Earth, creating opportunities

As a medium, which creates opportunities to think about the Earth and to feel its presence, we provided information (Think Daily) through our website and through our e-mail newsletters (weekly).
Furthermore, we welcomed university students to our project as interns. In addition, many graduate students took interest in our project and interviewed us as the subject of their thesis papers. We also met many individuals who supported our activity style, and held high expectations.
