Watching cloud movement on a global scale calls our attention to long-term changes in global weather not apparent from the maps we see in everyday weather forecasts, and reveals the dynamic nature of the Earth's weather systems. Here we track the progress of Katrina, the massive hurricane that swamped the city of New Orleans in the summer of 2005, and closer to Japan, typhoon Nos. 13 and 14, to focus on the movement of clouds across the Earth as a whole. *Macintosh users: please use to Safari to view. |
