Do you know about the index called the "ecological footprint"? It's the total area of farmland, ocean, forest, and other land required to support the lifestyle of a single person. In order for more than 6.7 billion people to live on the Earth, a planet whose surface area is limited, there is a limit to the surface area each individual can use. Ecological footprints teach us just how wasteful we are as we go about our daily lives on this planet.
