2002.4.4-4.11

We entered wn-1 in the 30th annual World Watch and Jewellery Show, Basel 2002, which is the world's largest trade fair for watch and jewellery.

For eight days, from April 4 to 11, 2300 exhibitors from 40 countries came together to Basel, Switzerland, an international city that boasts of the country's oldest university and more than 20 museums.

The city of Basel is located in the neighbouring regions of Germany and of France. At the northern section of the city located "Messe Basel," a vast exhibition site with as many as five enormous halls.

The main site of the fair is Hall 1, where top watch manufacturers from around the world, such as Rolex and Swatch Group, as well as Japan's leading ones, Seiko and Citizen, welcome visitors at their luxurious booths.

We obtained a small stand in Hall 5, an adjacent site to Hall 1, where not only watch manufacturers also companies specialise in watch-related business (components and packages) set up their booths.

Our stand was often crowded with people asking for how to read time with our watch and its mechanism.

Here please meet some of our visitors who'd kindly given us warm comments!

Basel 2002 was wn-1's official worldwide debut. We also unveiled the ws-1 (watch southern hemisphere) for the first time. Our watches received so many words of applause and encouragement, and so did the concept of Think the Earth project Now almost four weeks after the fair, we are still busy receiving inquiries from around the earth!

wn-1 is the first product from Think the Earth project, given birth in collaboration with Spaceport Inc. and Seiko Instruments Inc. who support a basic theme of the project "ecology and economy in coexistence." As a sales/ pr rep of such product, now I feel the sense of mission not only to convey the value of wn-1 as a timepiece, but also the Think the Earth project's concept to the world stronger than ever.
